An entrepreneurial woman takes businesses where they’ve never gone before.

SANTA CRUZ, CA, May 15, 2009
Vickie Powell and the Blog Me Everywhere™ team were sitting drinking coffee, and discussing the concept of reinventing oneself. Everyone had a wealth of experience across the board-political campaigns, graphic design, business development, launching new products, sustainability, IT, computers, editing, research... well it seemed to both of them the list just went on and on. They all were getting a yellow flag from their current employment that due to the 'economic crises' they were facing. It was time to take charge; time to reinvent themselves.

Vickie was complaining she did not have enough time to keep up with her postings on Digg.com, Twitter, Facebook, and Tagged. She wondered how anyone trying to run a business, or for that matter trying to gain a new market share using the Internet, was able to keep up with business social networking. Both women continued to talk about the phenomenon of online social networking for business when Vickie said to group, 'We can blog for businesses, and really help them.' They all felt the wheels turning faster in their heads and said let's do this and do it right! Soon they were bouncing names back and forth over more coffee and BlogMeEverywhere.com (www.blogmeeverywhere.com) was born.

The business strategy was to offer a service that no one else was offering. First, it must be sustainable and green. They found an ISP (Internet Service Provider) with a proven track record and that was solar powered. Next, they wanted a 'win-win' situation for themselves and their customers. They wanted to offer their customers a fair market price. To their surprise, they learned that professional bloggers out number lawyers, and were charging pretty steep prices for their services. Finally, they wanted to support Internet businesses that do not have the staff or time to keep up with the rapid changes in marketing on the Internet. They offer blogging services, including website design for new start-ups, website optimization, and other services that they are strong and knowledgeable in. BlogMeEverywhere.com is about growing your business fast in a slow economy, taking decisive action, and leveraging companies' marketing shares.

Social networking generates leads, closes sales for marketers

Research Brief, Apr 23, 2009
According to a social media study by Michael Stelzner for the Social Media Success Summit 2009, 88% of marketers in a recent survey say they are now using some form of social media to market their business, though 72% of those using it say they have only been at it a few months or less.

Survey respondents indicated that their top 3 social media mediums were Twitter (86%), Blogs (79%) and LinkedIn (78%). 64% of marketers are using social media for five hours or more each week, with 39% using it 10 or more hours weekly and 9.6% spending more than 20 hours each week with social media. Despite the title of the article, only 48% and 35% of respondents indicated that social media helped generate qualified leads and close sales, respectively. One comment to the article suggested the results may be biased, as only social media was used to promote participation in this survey. Read the complete article @ Center for Media Research

Time’s Person of the Year: You

By Lev Grossman / Time, Dec. 13, 2006
The "Great Man" theory of history is usually attributed to the Scottish philosopher Thomas Carlyle, who wrote that "the history of the world is but the biography of great men." He believed that it is the few, the powerful and the famous who shape our collective destiny as a species. That theory took a serious beating this year. Read the complete article @ Time.
